The American Polo Horse/Pony Association is a new organization that will be dedicated to recognizing the polo horse/pony in America. The association's mission will be to collect, record and preserve pedigrees of polo horses/ponies in the United States and to encourage events showcasing the polo horse/pony and the breeders and trainers responsible for them. Membership to the association and registration of polo horses/ponies will open in January of 2006. Registration of polo horses/ponies is open to any breed of horse that meets the application criteria. Membership will be open to any person wanting to be a part of this organization. Members will receive a discount when registering there horse/horses/pony/ponies as well as have their contact info or farm contact info listed on the official website www.americanpolohorse.com
The association will also be an informational forum for breeders, trainers and polo player's.
By registering a polo horse/pony you are placing that horse's bloodline into a polo database and creating a starting point to begin to document the success of that horse/pony and any future relatives to that horse/pony. In the sport of polo there is a need for good horses/ponies at every level from 0-40 goal polo. The best polo horses/ponies at every level come in many different shapes, sizes and breeds. It is important to create a structure for all registered horses/ponies to have an equal opportunity at being recognized for their contributions and abilities. The Polo Horse/pony and it's incredible abilities are the foundation of what makes the sport of polo so unique and all the more reason why it is time we began to give our great equine athletes the recognition they deserve. Not only will this association be able to connect all of the people responsible for these horses/ponies it will be a central location for anybody wanting to learn about or stay connected with our sport's greatest athletes.
