The Champagne flowed and the Aston Martins sleekly lined up at the Will Rogers Polo Club on September 7th. The 2003 Aston Martin Cup took place on the Polo Field in front of Will Rogers' historic home. Six teams took to the field, three games were played and two teams went home with silver.

The day's sponsors were The Aston Martin Owners Club and Aston Martin of Beverly Hills, who provided the lovely trophies. The Pacific Palisades Team of Soheil Goel, Tarik Amin, Steve Wayda and Chuck Stanislawski claimed victory over the Team from Santa Monica with a score of seven to six. The team of Domingo Questel, Manny Questel, Ardeshir Radpour and Dan De Meyer representing the Dominican Republic and the team of Andrew Bossom, Ernie Darquea, Graydon Brittan and Leigh Brecheen representing Great Brittan played the last game of the day. Team Dominican Republic was victorious with a score of seven to four and ultimately took home the Aston Martin Cup.

The mission behind the Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) is to "develop interest in the Aston Martin car.'' and ‹encourage social intercourse between members". Social intercourse was definitely achieved as guests mingled on the sidelines, sipping Champagne and enjoying a delicious, catered lunch while watching the fast and furious matches being played within 15 yards of their tables. Aston Martin of Beverly Hills affected interest in the Aston Martin car by displaying three mint Aston Martins in the paddock area behind the polo field (a safe enough distance away from errant polo balls and runaway horses).

Included in this feast for the eyes was the newly introduced Vanquish, which can reach speeds of more than 190 mph and boasts a 460 horsepower engine. That's enough horses for 90 POLO TEAMS!!! Any one who happened to come by and inquire about the cars was treated to a complimentary glass of Champagne. But alas, there were no test-drives, just the opportunity to gaze, dream and maybe pet one.
